Cashelbay Abby

Testimonial by Angela Smith (Owner and Rider)

6yr old Mare

Now in North Yorkshire, England.

Sire Cashelbay Prince, Dam Grey Molly.

Abby has a very bold & independent personality always the herd leader but without been marish.
Abby was been brought on slowly and is now enjoying been a part of the local riding club where we are both enjoying learning together. Abby is proven herself a very reliable and sensible hacking pony and enjoys jumping. In coming years we would like to breed from Abby. One thing I have learnt on the way is Connemara ponies are a very intelligent breed and when you get it right you get the “connection” and that’s why Abby has a home for life.

Cashelbay Firm Frineds

Testimonial by Deborah Dobson (Owner and Rider)

6yr old Grade 1 mare

Sire: Cashelbay Cruise, Dam: JJ's Fiona.

Now in Buckinghamshire, England

"Now living in Buckinghamshire and competing affiliated Brittish Dressag

Faith is also jumping at Riding Club level and is a fabulous hack, willing and cheerful but sensible.
She is sweet-tempered and lives out with my retired gelding, is never mareish and I don't often notice that she is in season.
She is very keen to do anything she is asked and is quick to learn.  She is also fun to take out competing as she is easy to handle and well-behaved away from home. She's much admired, many people would like to own her, especially when she beats the larger, impressive dressage horses.

Cashelbay JJ

Testimonial by Polly Eddis (Owner)

Ridden by Lucy Eddis

11yr old Gelding

Sire: Castleside JJ

Dam: Ballybawn Cashel

Cash really is an exceptional pony - he could undoubtedly be a top class event pony, as the BE trainers keep reminding us, but he is so special in every way.

We had a call out of the blue from the previous owners (The Leavesley Family), who we didn't know, after Hoys 2013 and to our amazement, were offered Cash for Lucy, whom the Leavesleys had been watching all season unknown to us, as a possible jockey for him. We went to try him and absolutely fell in love.  Bobbie Leavesley told me that Cash is the man one would like one's daughter to marry and she's absolutely right! - he's extremely kind, utterly reliable, athletic, clever, modest and tries his heart out.  He's also fantastically good-looking!

We have done a bit of everything - workers, hunting, farm rides and 6 BE events which he has completed without a single jumping penalty, and only finishing outside the top 4 after dressage on one occasion. Our big thing with him is to keep him sweet, plenty of variety and never to sour or over-do him.

We absolutely adore him and he is still only 11, and we feel he is still improving all the time.

Some of his winnings include:
  • Royal Windsor Horse Show 2014, M&M WHP Champion
  • BSPS Mid-Summer qualifier for the White Company Performance Pony Final at Burghley.
They won all 3 sections: The dressage, Jumping and overall.
  • Hoys qualifier at Suffolk County Show 2014 - the first they contested together. They also won the M&M Hoys qualifier at the same show.

Cashelbay Clancy

Testimonial by Cinzia Matteo, Italy

Clancy is excellent . I'm now doing the 1.10m with her, but this type of competition is really easy for her. In the spring she will be ready to start competition . She is fantastic, she jumps very well and easy .
