Cashelbay Comet
(2011) owned by Rhiannon Suttle
10-year-old Gelding Sire: Cashelbay Prince Dam: Ginger Meg
“I bought Comet back in 2018 from Georgia Love as an all-round family pony. She had high hopes of him qualifying for The Horse of the Year Show and The Royal International Horse Show in the M&M WHP class so she continues to this day to compete him on the showing circuit. He qualified for HOYS in 2019 on his first attempt and made all our dreams come true with a trip to the show. He was first in the ring that morning at his first show of that scale. Bless him, he had a couple of unlucky poles that morning as he thought he needed to duck whilst jumping under the hanging ceiling banners but he took the day and its busyness in his stride and behaved impeccably. 2021 has been a tough season with COVID-19 stopping play and Comet narrowly missed out on his golden ticket this year several times. However, after a win in his section and standing overall champion at the NPS Autumn Performance show, Cashelbay Comet is RIHS bound in 2022! I am so pleased for Georgia and Comet and fingers crossed we will make it back to HOYS next year for a second time. Beyond Comet’s achievements in the showing ring, he really is my pony of a lifetime. He firmly believes he is the most important pony on the yard, demanding attention so is lovingly known as King Com at home. He is an affectionate and trusting boy who can throw his hoof to pretty much anything. Comet enjoys learning new ‘tricks’ in his dressage lessons with me and he excelled last year on his first ODE finishing second in a large section for being a bit quick round the cross country. For a traditional Connemara pony with real bone, he is exceptionally athletic, versatile and highly intelligent which sometimes gets him in to trouble when he has stolen all of the mints.”
Cashelbay Arnold
by Jessica Challinor (Owner & Rider)
2015
Sire: Cashelbay Rocket Dam: Frederiksminde Mathilda ex Hazy Dawn
Now in Leicestershire, United Kingdom Arnold arrived with me in Leicestershire as an unbroken 3yo in October 2018. An intuitive but kind character, he thrives off human interaction and is always happy with his ears pricked. He has been a pleasure to produce. Broken in on a busy farm, Arnold is comfortable around large machinery and good in traffic. He has hunted with the Quorn and Fernie, proving to be brave and athletic over rails and fences. He has also hunted with the D&S Staghounds and was surefooted over rough moorland. He has won and been placed at every dressage competition in 2020, with hopes of affiliating in 2021. I am confident Arnold is one to watch for the future.
