Despite a miserable day weather-wise, the beautiful setting of Roundstone saw the annual return of the cream of Connemara Pony stock again this year. We were there, with our own Ardfry Ariel, to compete in the 3 year-old mare class, where we were very satisfied with a fifth place amongst such company. Taking first place [...]
We are delighted with our success at this year’s Clifden Show. Fredericksminde Mathilda came first in the 10 – 15yo class, and went on to become overall Reserve Champion. Fredericksminde Mellow II came second in her class, a very strong 3yo filly class, and Cashelbay Misty made the hat-trick by winning the Lead Rein [...]
A super day out at Taispeantas Cois Fharraige this year, with Ardfry Ariel doing us very proud. She began the day by coming in with the red rosette in the 3yo Mare class, against a very strong field of top mares. She managed to top this feat by continuing on to the Junior Championship, where [...]
It’s always good to do well in front of a ‘home-crowd’, as it were, and we were delighted when Ardfry Ariel won her class (3yo) at Cashel Show, Sunday, Aug. 7th.
Frederiksminde Mellow II did us proud at Claremorris on Sunday 31st July, when she won the 3yr old class and the Junior Championship.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused – thankfully nothing of an inappropriate nature was shown. We have repaired the damage, and march on. It is unfortunate that [...]
Quality over quantity was the name of the game at the Athenry Show this year, with compact but very competitive classes to be had throughout. We are delighted to be associated with the show, and offer our heartiest congratulations to Terence Sweeney and his marvelous Dunloughan Troy on winning the inaugural Joe Fallon Perpetual Trophy [...]
With a new In-Hand ring, and amidst a drive to improve and build the show, the organisers of the Athenry show are bringing forward some new classes and qualifiers – many with very generous prize funds. The Connemara, Pony, and WH sections of the schedule are posted here.
Cashelbay Clancy and Ginger Meg have both foaled, giving birth to a filly foal and a colt foal respectively. We were lucky enough to be on hand to take some lovely pictures of Cashelbay Clancy with her first foal, just minutes after birthing, which you can view here.
Another big crowd for the Connemara classes at the Royal Ulser Agricultural Society’s annual show at Balmoral. The organising committee (Ann & Derek Henderson and Joan Hinchcliffe in particular) are to be congratulated on another very successful outing, with well attended classes despite the early calendar date. All ponies were extremely well turned out, were [...]
